Four Pop Culture Inspired Costumes That Are Halloween Hits

Wednesday, October 9, 2019

I would say that pop culture inspired costumes have become one of the most- if not the most- popular genres in recent years for October 31st. For good reason too: they're (for the most part) easy, highly recognizable and super fun to put together & wear.

I've pulled together four costumes that are sure be Halloween hits- and won't break the bank.

Fleabag:

This is a series I haven't watched yet (it's on my list!) but Fleabag has been all the rage as of late. On the heels of its Emmy wins, the iconic jumpsuit worn by Phoebe Waller-Bridge is sure to turn heads. I found the exact jumpsuit worn here and can be paired with matching black heels. Curl your hair & pin it up a bit & voila

El Hopper:

Eleven has had some pretty iconic looks, and season 3 was no different. Target has an exact replica of her mall romper that's been sold out for 82 years, but thankfully amazon is here to save the day. Throw on a pair of converse to complete the look. Ice cream cone optional.

Cher Horowitz :

Ah, Clueless. The quintessential '90s film with quintessential style to boot. Cher's yellow blazer + skirt uniform is probably one of the easiest to put together, with items most likely already in your closet. All you'll need is some plaid, a cardigan complete knee high socks & mary janes.

Elle Woods:

Elle Woods is an OG feminist icon and her signature pink look can be recognized instantly. To get her courtroom look (two words: ammonium thioglycolate) you'll need a pink dress, pink bag and the pink heels. Obviously.
