Don’t Have Two Busy Prints
Have one that's more understated. For instance, remember Ms. Frizzle from Magic School Bus and her crazy patterned outfits? Yeah don't do that. Pick one print as a focal point and play off that. If you've got a busy animal print, for instance, mellow it out with a simple floral.
Speaking of floral:
Mix Stripes & Floral
Perhaps one of the most cohesive print mixing styles, mixing a stripe & floral is a safe, pretty much fail-proof way of going. I even have a dress that's a floral background & then has stripes going through it, which is actually how I figured out that it could be mixed.
Break Up The Prints With A Belt
You can use an accessory like a belt as another minor focal point. By breaking up the prints a little bit, you've got something else for your eye to catch and it will be a more cohesive look.
Don't Be Afraid To Experiment
Taking a fashion risk can seem scary, but if you wear it with confidence then it instantly becomes the best outfit. Don't be afraid to experiment with different patterns & see which ones are the most flattering and which ones you like together!
