Self Love Practices

Ah, valentine's day. The holiday you either love or loathe. I don't go out of my way to hate on it, but I'm not the biggest fan. I think it's important to show love every single day of the year, but if we're gonna have a holiday for it, I guess one with pretty pink things & all the chocolate you could want isn't the worst way to do it. 

It's important, in a way, because it reminds me the value of self-love, the value in doing things because you love them & practicing self care. The benefits of this are ever-important: higher self esteem, better mental clarity, & less stress, to name a few.

There are so many simple ways to practice self love today, or any day of the year: (I'm still the worst at segues WOW. In other words, let's get on with the list)  

1// Eat a cupcake. You deserve it.

2// Practice a yoga routine.

3//  Rosé away.

4// Start that new netflix show you've been meaning to watch. (I've seen a couple episodes of black mirror & now I want to binge ALL OF THEM. creepy AF)

5// Make a gratitude list. Write down everything you can think of that you're grateful for. I do this every day in my bullet journal & it keeps things in perspective. 

6// Make a vision board & put it somewhere you can see it everyday.

7// Meditate.

8// Wear your most favorite outfit, the one that makes you feel like you're in one of those music videos. Even if it's just to the grocery store.

9// Turn your phone off or on Do Not Disturb for even just TWO HOURS. Read your favorite book. Bake something yummy. Don't sneak a look at instagram.

10// Go exploring in your city.

11// Two words: Red. Lipstick.

12// Light your favorite candle, grab your best bath bomb, & draw yourself the most lush little bath.
