A Word On Entitlement.

Lately the notion that my generation is 'entitled' or 'self absorbed' has been annoying me more than usual. While I can't speak for every millennial, (I'm really starting to resent that term) I for one do not believe in entitlement. I don't believe the world owes me anything.

Okay, I take that back for a minute. The world does owe us one thing.

We owe kindness to each other. (& even more importantly, to ourselves) ANYWAY, other than that, the world doesn't owe us anything. & you know what? I don't know one millennial who thinks differently. Maybe I'm just surrounding myself with the right people, but I think it's a generalization that just isn't accurate.

Everyone I know, whether it be in real life or blog life, works their you know what off. We actively look to better ourselves, to be the best version of us. We work hard at our job, even if it's not the one we want or went to school for. We fight against the injustices of the world. We don't want "handouts" or to whine, we just want better- for ourselves, each other, and for this world.

How is that unfair? It is completely fair to want better when things are not good. In my opinion, if that's not the focus, there's an issue. Every generation has bad people. There's the people who want to hurt others, whether with their fists or their words. They don't care about anyone but themselves. That's not a generational thing, that's a human thing. There is good & there is bad; choose which one you want to be & be it.

*This is a really scattered post but it's been getting to me lately. Blame the horrible people for the horrible things happening! Don't blame an entire generation because we take photos of ourselves!*

CHAT TIME: Do you believe that this is the generation of entitlement?
