Previously on Pretty Little Liars... The Bin of Sin

Wednesday, January 28, 2015

A lot went down on PLL last night, including flirting, relationship drama, and a near death experience. But isn't that like every week in Rosewood?

+ My feelings about Detective Tanner haven't changed a bit. She's still too shady for me. Her words to Toby were what I've been thinking this whole time though: "You have been a cop for all of six minutes."

+ So is Hanna's mom the only parent left? Did all the others get abducted by aliens or taken by A or something? Seriously. Meanwhile their daughters are just getting themselves into trouble every two seconds..... typical.

+ My Emily and Talia vibes were sooooo on point, thank you very much.

+ Haleb makes me happy.

+ We still don't know what's in the bin and it's killing me. No pun intended. I feel like it's Mona, but I also feel like that's just what they want us to think.

What are your thoughts on yesterday's episode?

I hijacked Mom's blog.

Tuesday, January 27, 2015

Hey everyone! Stevie here. I'm taking over the blog today. Technically Mom doesn't know so it's just between us, alright? Apparently my mom gets to talk to you about her life and stuff, and while that's totally cool, I wanna talk about mine sometimes, ya know? So if you've ever wondered what I do all day, this is for you.
First things first, waking up. I usually wake up whenever Mom does, but every now and then I wake up earlier because I know she just LOVES that. Almost as much as I love when she feeds me breakfast. I'm not even sure I breathe while I'm eating. What does the food even taste like? Beats me. I just know it's sosososo good. You know what else is good? Cheerios. Sometimes I'll get some from my grandpa and I love him for it.
Once my mom is off to work, that means it's time for me to play with all the toys and hang with grandpa and grandma. I usually take a nap or two while I'm at it because what is a life without naps? I'll also venture outside where there's lots of bugs and leaves to chase. Yeah, I chase leaves. Wanna say somethin'?
After a looooooooong time Mom gets back and I get so excited that sometimes I pee myself. I tend to do that a lot. After I calm down a bit, I'll grab a toy for Mom to throw because I loooooove my toys. Almost as much as I love food. When we aren't playing, I'll make myself comfy in my mom's bed while she does the same. I like to watch her blog, and also that Gilmore Girls show she watches a lot.
When anyone is eating, even if I just ate my own food two minutes ago, I want the food they're eating. It all just looks SO GOOD and the fact that no one gives me any of it is torture. So I bark. They don't care. It's so messed up.

I like to have at least one more nap before bed because being a dog is really stressful sometimes and I just need my beauty rest. And all the other naps tire me out, ya know?
Once it's time for bed I like to do this thing where my mom thinks I'm asleep in my bed so she'll get in hers, and then I jump in and snuggle with her, sometimes right on her pillow. Pillows are for sleeping. Who cares if all my hair gets on it? Okay, so maybe Mom does.

I'm sure there's more, but talking about sleep so much makes me want to take a good ole nap. So I guess that's it for the day... Oh, and thanks for letting my mom blabber on about stuff that I don't understand. You're pretty cool. See ya!

Outfits and some weird angles

Monday, January 26, 2015

Lately I've taken to a different way of taking outfit photos, which includes finding really weird angles with my phone until it looks good enough. All the glamour.

These are three of my favorite outfits as of late.....
This cute Lauren Conrad top pairs well with a simple black skirt and printed cardigan.

Top: Lauren Conrad
Skirt: Elle
Cardigan: Target

Another simple top that you can dress down a bit with a good pair of dark jeans. This cute lil owl necklace is the perfect accessory... too bad I can't remember where I got it.

Top: Papaya
Cardigan: Forever 21
Jeans: Target

And I've saved the best for last..... I could probably wear this shirt for the rest of my life, and I feel like it's appropriate for any situation. At work? I'd rather be watching Gilmore Girls. In a room full of strangers? I'd rather be watching Gilmore Girls. Doing the being an adult thing? I'd most definitely rather be watching Gilmore Girls. Add a flannel and leggings and you've got yourself an instant outfit.

Growing up, I was always the shortest one in my class. Each year when we had our class photos taken, we all knew that I was going to be in the veeery front. It was just a given. I've also been 4'10{and a half!} since like the 7th grade, so obviously I've had quite a few #shortgirlproblems in my day.{I make myself sound so ooold}

At least we can all relate to these....... except for you, tall people. Get outta here with your long legs and stuff.

//Nearly every pair of your jeans look like this. Your head says fashion choice, your legs say necessary.
//Going to a concert? Church? Class? Anywhere there's a chance of a back of a head coming and blocking your view? Good luck.

//No amount of makeup can keep people from thinking you're 15. It's just my height, I'm a professional adult I swear!
//Having to adjust your seat and mirrors after someone else drives. We shouldn't have to be punished like that.

//Top. Shelf. Can't. Reach.

//Every time you do laundry you legitimately have a fear of this picture coming true. If it hasn't already, that is.
// Want that really cute sundress? Too bad. It'll drown you.

//Sun visors are useless.

//The clothing shelves at work are taller than you so when you're standing by them your coworkers are all "where's Kaeleen" because they just can't see you. Oh. That one's just me.......

What #shortgirlproblems would you add to the list?

Things I took away from last night's episode:

+ Not a lot happens when Ali's not around

+ The girls think Ali is doing all these A things from jail. Literally locked in a jail cell away from society but she can still make all these elaborate plans, apparently.

+ To be honest I kind of forgot about Ted oops

+ I love all the Spencer/ Caleb scenes happening. #brotp

+ I don't love Spencer and Toby fighting. Part of me is afraid there's a break up in the air and I won't be able to accept it if it happens.

+ And the "everything is Hanna's fault" Aria has returned.

+ I'm feeling a vibe from Emily and new waitress girl.

+ IS IT REALLY MONA IN THE BARREL???? Also why did Mona have to die

+ Who is this new kid and why is he so obsessed with eggs

+ Lately things have been lining up with the twin theory, but what if it's Hanna that has the twin? There's multiple reasons it could be possible, but mainly since that storage unit was RENTED IN HER NAME WHAT IS THAT???????

And now we wait for next week...... What did you love {or not love} about this week's episode?

Happy to be Alive, Because

Monday, January 19, 2015

Chelsea writes one of my favorite blogs and when I heard she had also written a book, I was immediately intrigued. A blogger just like me???? Who published a book just like I want to???? Hello, new inspiration.

I'm not super great at summaries, unless it's summarizing the plot of Gilmore Girls, so here's what the back of the book tells ya:

"Avery is a seventeen year old girl whose reality has just been shattered by the death of her mother. Feeling a desperate need to flee from what has become her life, she follows a travel plan meant for her mom and her that leads her to the little beach town where her mom grew up. It's there that she meets a group of three adventurous friends who adopt her into their circle, allowing her to experience a summer she never thought would be possible after suffering such a great loss.

Unfortunately, her summer full of experiences threatens to end abruptly when she realizes that one of the three has a secret that causes her to question everything about the new life she has been building. Avery must learn to balance her grief and her desire for a future in order to achieve her mother's final wish for her: that she would be happy to be alive."

You know those books that make you feel all warm and fuzzy and you can't put down but you also don't want to end? That's what happened to me with this one. It was like I was reading a Sarah Dessen book, but also unique and sad and happy and really really good.

I'd tell you more but then you wouldn't be able to find it all out on your own...

The first month of the year is halfway through {whaaa?} and lemme tell ya, keeping up with your goals is not easy. That being said, I still have inspiration and passion in me. I'm inspired to love and laugh and grow and breathe.

When I first decided to set intention with my goals for the year, I based it on the belief that ultimately you decide the path you take. You have to take control of your life because your happiness depends on you. You can't depend on someone else to make you happy, you have to learn how to just fall in love with your life the way it is. While that's definitely easier said than done, it's also most definitely possible.

I don't even know how to introduce these things anymore. Here's my scrambled thoughts on this show?? Here's what you need to know?? I don't know. Anyway, the following are very important points I thought of during this episode that I'm not even sure warrant a blog post....

+ I still don't understand how Toby is so "in" with Rosewood PD now. Someone please explain this or I'm going to spend every episode from now on trying to figure out how this happened.

+ Why are they bringing Jackie back??

+ Speaking of Jackie, Aria was clearly not thinking {what's new} with the whole admissions letter.

+ None of these girls ever think. Like ever. Okay, sometimes Spencer.

+ I miss Mona and her cryptic shenanigans.

+ When Spencer and Toby fight I feel like my heart is being ripped out.

+ Hanna's mom and Jason..... lol okay. Called it. But still so weird.

What are your {more coherent} thoughts on last night's episode? Also, if someone knows how to quit this show, advice on that would be great too.....

Lilly for Target

Friday, January 9, 2015

A few days ago, Target announced a new collaboration with Lilly Pulitzer that's set to become available on April 19th. Most everyone, myself included, seemed to be more than excited for the collab. However, there were some less than thrilled people who took to social media to let their thoughts known. A lot of the complaints were along the lines of saying the brand would be tarnished and "cheapened" by being available at Target and that Lilly would be "rolling in her grave" at this business decision. I didn't know there were so many psychics on twitter.

I'm no business mogul, but in my opinion it's a really smart move. As much as I love to admire Lilly through store windows and pretty photos on tumblr, I've never actually been able to wear anything of hers. As for Target, I pretty much live there, {who doesn't?} and them making Lilly available to a wider market allows me and a lot of other people the option of getting her things that are actually in budget. The brand doesn't have to cheapen just because the cost does. The likes of Issac Mizrahi, Missoni, even Alexander McQueen have collaborated with Target and they are still highly respected and high quality brands.

So no, I don't think Lilly Pulitzer would be upset by this, considering the smart entrepreneur she was. And who can deny how absolutely fabulous this collection looks?

Previously on Pretty Little Liars... Through A Glass, Darkly

Wednesday, January 7, 2015

PLL is back and my Tuesday nights are once again filled with unnecessary drama and general confusion. We've got a lot to cover and my thoughts are choppy so... here we go.

First of all, we know time moving slowly in Rosewood is a thing, but seriously? And why was Mona's funeral three months after she was killed? Were they waiting for conformation? But they still hadn't found the body when they had the funeral. Anyway, speaking of the funeral, we had an Ali slap before the opening credits even happened. Mrs. Vanderwaal was not having it.

More on Ali, I don't trust her. I have never trusted her. However, I don't think she killed Mona or that she's A at this point. She's done a lot of horrible things, yes, but being A or even killing Mona just seems too predictable. I know after the finale I was sure it was her, as did the liars. Now, I'm not so sure. I'm also not sure on who did kill Mona, which brings me to my next thought....

I've never really thought of Paige as sketchy. But her rushed leaving situation did seem a little off, especially considering the timing of things. Were her parents really making her move to California, or did she need an excuse to leave? I'm probably reading too much into things. Probably.

But Toby, a rookie cop who like, just got out of the academy, is now with the town department and gets assigned his girlfriend's case? Yeeeah. I'm all for Spencer being cleared of charges, though, so that's good.

Let's talk about Mike for a second. I wanted to cry. We never got to see too much of his and Mona's relationship, but he knew a side of her that nobody else did and then she was just gone. Ouch. And his and Aria's conversation about how people act when someone dies was so real. Another thing, did their parents disappear or..?

I'll leave you with this final sentiment: these -A messages are getting more and more elaborate. Next thing you know the liars are gonna be hearing them through their local radio station or something. A really likes to make a scene after someone talks about how "it's over." Oh girls, don't you know by now it's not over? You've got like, at least two more seasons left.
