You hear people say the phrase shake it off a lot. Boy problems? Shake it off. Bad hair day? Shake it off. There's usually a lot of eye rolling accompanied with this phrase, at least for me. The idea of shaking things off and letting them roll off your shoulders seems so unrealistic. How can you just not care? 

I'm beginning to think that while it may be impossible to be totally apathetic to things that happen or what people say, we do have a choice in how we deal with it. It's easy to dwell and shut yourself off, not wanting to try anymore. But that's the thing. No matter how you react, people are going to do what they want. So instead of dwelling, why not make the best of it? Why not do what you want as well?

Maybe it's like having music in your mind. If you tell yourself it's going to be alright, your whole mindset can change. Just shake it off. And dance your little heart out.
